Requirements

LG Image Manager is an ExpressionEngine extension and has been tested on ExpressionEngine 1.6.1.

LG Image Manager also requires Moxiecode Image Manager PHP

Installation

The LG Image Manager extension contains an extension folder and a language file. To install the extension follow the instructions below:

  1. Download the latest version of the extension
  2. Extract the .zip file to your desktop
  3. Copy the extensions/ext.lg_image_manager.php directory to your /system/extensions directory
  4. Copy the language/english/lang.lg_image_manager.php file to your /system/languages/english directory
  5. Log in to your sites administration
  6. Open the Extensions Manager
  7. Enable Extensions if not already enabled
  8. Enable the extension
  9. Configure the extension settings

LG Image Manager does not include a copy of Moxiecode Image Manager or TinyMCE. It will need to be purchased/downloaded from the developer.

Activation

This extension has no special activation requirements. Activate the extension as referred to in the ExpressionEngine documentation.

Configuration

The LG Image Manager extension includes only one setting.

  1. Script Folder Path
Script Folder Path [required]
/scripts/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/imagemanager/js/

By default LG Image Manager assumes the location of mcimagemanager.js is /scripts/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/imagemanager/js/.

If you are using Moxiecode Image Manager as a standalone file browser you may need to change this path.

Configuration options for Moxiecode Image Manager can be found in the developers documentation.

Usage

Now that the extension has been installed an setup correctly a new field type will appear when creating custom fields.

  1. Create a new custom field in an existing weblog and choose LG Image Manager as the field type.
  2. Create a new entry in the weblog
  3. Click the icon next to the new custom field which will launch the Moxiecode Image Manager
  4. Browse and insert the file required
  5. The path to the file will be inserted into the text input on the publish/edit form
